jummy olabanji it is at montgomery county police headquarters with the latest on this. good morning. >> good morning. police in montgomery county of not officially released the identity of the two victims in the crash. friends are speaking with us this morning, setting the tragedy was not how many of them expected to start the new year. >> it is rough. i have a lot of disbelief. >> those who say they knew the victims in sunday's crash say the reality of what happened is too much to bear. katie was a passenger in in the 2007 chevy trailblazer that went off the road and hit a tree. she was in her second trimester of pregnancy. also in the car was nick. his best friend says he will miss its sense of humor the
most. >> laid-back and funny. very cool. >> the crash happened before 3:00 on new year's day. friends say they don't know where the group of five had been coming from. police are looking into it. >> i woke up to find someone did not make it home. that hurts. >> three other male passengers were in the car and are in the hospital. one is still in serious condition. montgomery county is trying to figure out exactly what caused this crash. they don't know if speed or alcohol were a factor. reporting from rockville, jummy olabanji. an elderly kensington couple was seriously injured in another new year's day accident. the 77-year-old and his wife dorothy or walking on summit avenue when a driver lost control of her car and give them. they are in moscow with life- threatening injuries.
